Lash extensions add length, curl and fullness by attaching individual lashes to your natural ones. In German this is called Wimpernverlängerung, and the right style depends on the look you want and how much upkeep you want.
Here is how classic, volume and wispy lash extensions differ, and how to choose between them.

What are lash extensions?
Lash extensions are individual synthetic lashes that a technician attaches to your own lashes.
Classic, volume and wispy: the main styles
| Classic | Volume | Wispy | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it looks | Natural, defined | Fuller, denser | Soft, textured, feathery |
| How it is built | One extension per natural lash | Several fine extensions per natural lash (2D–3D light, 4D–5D medium, 6D+ mega) | A mix of lengths for a spiky, airy finish |
| Best for | A subtle, “your lashes but better” look | More drama and density | A textured, open-eyed look |

Wimpern verdichten: which style for sparse lashes?
Wimpern verdichten means making your lashes look thicker. If your lashes are sparse or have gaps, volume styles add the most density, while classic keeps a lighter feel. Your technician can advise on the best option at the consultation.
How to choose your style
- Want a natural look? Start with classic.
- Want more fullness? Choose volume.
- Want texture and an open-eyed look? Try wispy.
- Want lower upkeep costs? Classic 1:1 has the lowest fill prices, from €50 for a 2-week fill.
- Not sure? Your technician can adapt length, curl and thickness to your eye shape and lashes.
How long do lash extensions last?
Extensions shed together with your natural lashes, so they last as long as your lash growth cycle allows. Fills are typically booked every 2 to 4 weeks, and good aftercare helps them stay fuller for longer.
Lash extensions vs. lash lift
Extensions add length and volume. A lash lift curls your own lashes and needs less upkeep. If you prefer a natural look, read how long a lash lift lasts in our lash lift guide or our Korean lash lift explainer.

Aftercare tips
- Keep your lashes dry for the first [24 to 48 hours].
- Avoid oil-based makeup removers and creams around the eyes.
- Brush your lashes gently with a clean spoolie.
- Do not pull, pick or rub your extensions.
- Book your fill before too many extensions have shed.
